Belkin NetCam HD+ F7D7606 Review

PROS / The Belkin NetCam HD+ integrates with WeMo smart home automation products.

CONS / This IP camera’s audio was indecipherable.

VERDICT / The Belkin NetCam HD+ surprised HD Wireless IP Camera us with its excellent nighttime video, which makes it a good option if you just want to keep an eye on your front door at night. However, it isn’t enough to make up for the unclear video the camera displays during the day or the poor audio that makes speech impossible to understand.

The Belkin NetCam HD+ is a versatile IP camera that works with WeMo smart home products to help you manage your home with your mobile device. Compared to the best wireless IP cameras, the Belkin NetCam HD+ falls short in video quality, with the exception of night vision.

The best IP cameras give you crisp and clear high-quality video, but the Belkin NetCam HD+’s video quality is uneven. In our testing, 720P HD IP Camera during the day with lights on in the room we were monitoring, this IP camera performed well enough, but it did not have the best clarity. The 720p video resolution can’t compete with the many internet cameras that have 1080p resolution. In low light, the video quality suffered a bit more but was still clear enough we could identify a person dozens of feet away from the camera. In total darkness, the Belkin NetCam HD+ beat its competition in both range and clarity.

The camera’s audio was loud, but speech was unintelligible. We tested the two-way audio several times and still could not make out what was being said. Like all of the IP cameras we tested, the Belkin NetCam HD+ has motion detection, so it starts to record events when it detects movement and notifies you when something happens at home. However, it does not have sound detection.

This IP security camera was particularly difficult to set up because of its stand. It’s an odd design, and it didn’t feel as stable as other IP cameras we tested. Installation was more time consuming than with other cameras, IP Camera Onvif but once it was set up, using this Wi-Fi camera was easy enough – especially the app. All of the icons are self-explanatory and browsing through video clips is intuitive with the date displayed at the top with a scrolling timeline.
